Sunflowers, Heat and Great Memories

So June has been crazy hot and not the best time to take outside pictures unless you do it first thing in the morning or late afternoon. Well I realized that 11:00 am is not early enough!! LOL

So Hannah, me, my friend, and her little girl tried to brave the heat and risk taking some pictures at her parents house. Well, I did not know that her parents place would be a photographers dream!! The favorite spots were the sunflowers and the yellow truck!! We fought the heat and took many breaks but we had fun and I got some great shots.

The yellow truck held so many great memories for my friend and I thought what a great way to use it to create new ones. As I was taking pictures I could her my friend talking to her little girl about some of those great memories! My favorite was the story of her brother, her parents and her riding in the truck with their pet dog and raccoon. Yes, I said it, pet raccoon!! Can you imagine four people and two animals sitting in a bench seat of a truck going on a family vacation??? It was so funny!!! LOL
So I plan to use this location many times over in the future. So enjoy the pictures.

Having Fun in the Hot Sun

Well, besides my little one turning three all of her little school friends are turning 3. Had another birthday party this weekend for Hannah's friend E. She is adorable and her mommy went to the same high school as Mike and I!! So it has been really great to reconnect after all these years!!

The theme for the party was Frosty the Snowman.....I know you are wondering what in the world??? It is June!!! Well that is what E wanted and her parents did a great job having frosty there minus the snow but water works great too!!

There were lots of kids, water, laughter, drinks, snow cones (yum) and yes the heat!!!! But the kids had a blast. We arrived a little late due to naps but I was able to take a few pictures!!! They are not the best I think the heat got the best of me!! lol

Fight Like a Girl

My awesome, amazing mom found out back in January that she has breast cancer. It was a complete blow to our family since there is no trace of breast cancer until my mom. She caught it early but still had to have chemo because the doctors don't know where the cancer came from or how it started growing. The thought of going through chemo was very scary to my mom!

The lump was removed and a few weeks later I was able to go with her to have her head shaved before she started her chemo treatments. Spending that time with my mom and watching her lose her hair was a moment I will never forget. Her faith in Christ and the love and support of prayer through family and friends as helped her "Fight like a Girl"

Mom ended up losing all of her hair but she still looks amazing and beautiful as ever.

My sisters' were down for the day last week and I wanted to take some pictures of her and us to remember her journey with cancer!!! I love you mom and you amaze me every time I see you!!!

In the last couple of weeks mom has gotten used to not wearing a wig or scarf around the house. She did not know how the grand kids would react to her with no hair and she did not want to scare them. But like most kids they did not act or say anything different! She is still Grandee in their eyes!! What a sweet moment!!!

Daddy's Day

I wanted to take some pictures of daddy and his girls so what a better time to do it then on Father's Day!! After nap time we headed out to the park and spent a little time playing and taking pictures. It was pretty hot but I was able to catch some special time with daddy!!

I don't remember what they were talking about but it must have been pretty funny!!

Happy Birthday Hannah Bean!!!

Hard to believe just three years ago Hannah Bean was born and forever changed our world!! I can't believe she is three!!! It is amazing how you can blink and your kids grow up before you are ready. I know what you are thinking...she is only three! Well yes, she is only three but were did it go??? She simple amazes me everyday! What a blessing and she is going to do some amazing things for Christ!!!

Like I have said before she is my heart with arms and legs!! She has such a loving spirit and like most kids enjoys the simple things in life! I love you Hannah and Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

She had such a great birthday party with all her friends! She was so excited to see everyone and all the kids had a great time!!! Wow! I am exhausted after that party! Well, I have another year to recover!!!

Fun at the Lake

What a great way to end the day by taking a ride out on the lake!!! We left little one home with the grandparents and took Hannah with us to hang out with some friends. We packed some dinner (OK we stopped and got some fried chicken) and headed out! I grabbed the camera of course since the sun would be setting soon!!

After trolling for a while we parked the boat and ate our food. The kids had fun hanging by the side of the boat and playing with some barbie dolls. As we headed out further on the lake I caught a couple shots of the sun and of friends!! Enjoy

Douglas Family

I had a photo session on Saturday with the Douglas family! Kelly is a dear friend from my old job before I had kids!!! We made it a family affair with her sister joining in the fun. The boys were adorable and I had fun chasing and crawling on the ground to catch some great pictures.

What do you get when you have a pond, horses and great weather? You hope to take some great shots and have no accidents. Everyone made it out safely except me....stepped in a pile of ants and almost stuck my hand in a pile of dog poo but who cares when you can capture some awesome shots!! LOL
So any way here are a few of my favorite pictures so far and Kel, the rest are coming!!! I had a great time and hope to do it again with this great family!!!!

McMakin Family

Great news!!! I was able to download some pictures this afternoon so here is the McKakin Family! There mom is a dear friend and we try to get together once a week to play. More for the mommies then the kids. LOL! We played around at Irmo Town Park on a beautiful day. I had a lot of fun chasing little man L around for two hours. All say it....girls are much easier!!!!! LOL!!!

So this next picture is really cute with mom and the boys but what is really funny is off two the left was Hannah. Every time L would turn around with this long stick he kept whacking Hannah! It was pretty funny!!!
